In 2025, the theme of the conference is ALL EYES ON GREENLAND! Scientists from around the world are flying in, while Greenland's own research landscape is growing continuously. But how can we ensure that this global attention leads to meaningful benefits for both science and society in Greenland? And how do we move from research in and about Greenland to research for and with Greenland? Greenland Science Week 2025 dives into these questions - exploring the powerful intersection of global science and local relevance.

Call for Abstracts

We invite researchers from all disciplines to submit abstracts for oral presentations that explore this year's theme. We especially welcome contributions that engage with the following questions:

How can growing scientific interest in Greenland be translated into tangible benefits — for both the scientific community and Greenlandic society?
How do we foster research partnerships that enable genuine co-creation, collaboration, and local capacity building?
What does it take to ensure that research in Greenland is locally relevant, socially responsible, and grounded in equitable knowledge exchange?

Submission process
Abstracts can be submitted from May 1 - June 1, 2025 on this page.

A notification of acceptance/rejection of the abstracts submitted will be sent to you via email by June 30st, 2025.

Submission guidelines

Each author can only contribute with two submissions.
Abstracts should be submitted online.
All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English.
For an abstract to be reviewed, it may not be shorter than 1000 characters or longer than 1200 characters, including spaces.
Tables, charts, or other graphics may not be included.
All abstract submissions are reviewed by the Scientific Committee.

Poster session

We are excited to announce the possibility of hosting a poster session as part of this year’s Greenland Science Week.

The Greenland Science Week Conference is an internationally recognized, multidisciplinary conference that serves as a platform for bringing together Arctic expertise from various fields, including the social sciences, humanities, physical sciences, and life sciences. It provides a unique opportunity for researchers and professionals to collaborate, exchange ideas, and explore the varied aspects of research in Greenland. The Greenland Science Week Conference is held bi-annually in Nuuk as part of the Greenland Science Week, which includes the conference, stakeholder meetings, and events aimed at the public. The Greenland Science Week Conference bridges scientific knowledge and societal needs with a strong emphasis on relevance, impact, and inclusivity. We aim to spark ideas and actions that contribute to a resilient and sustainable future in Greenland by fostering open dialogue and collaboration.
